Description
Position Scope
Charlottetown Metal Products (CMP) is a proud member of FPS Food Process Solutions. We are looking for a competent and self-motivated IT Systems Administrator (CMP) to provide timely IT support – which may include but are not limited to providing technical assistance on computer systems and ensuring technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading and managing our software, hardware and networks. The successful incumbent should possess knowledge of various operating systems and platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and plan the installation and maintenance of network and telecommunications systems.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and the Microsoft 365 environment.
- Design, implement, and manage server applications
- Ensure backup and redundancy for systems, both on-premises and in the cloud.
- Provide technical support by assisting end-users and resolving computer system issues.
- Monitor and patch endpoint devices, network equipment, and servers.
- Establish, document, and uphold system standards.
- Manage IT assets.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Proficiency in WAN and LAN network architecture and engineering.
- Expertise in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting server systems.
- Proficient in managing firewalls and switches within complex VLAN environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in utilizing server management and monitoring tools.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience in a network engineer and/or system administrator role
- Experience with network switches, routers, and firewalls (Cisco, Meraki, UniFi)
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows server and desktop operating systems, Active Directory, and Group Policy Objects (GPO).
- Experience with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
- Experienced in the analysis and design of voice networks, as well as LAN and WAN data networks, wireless networks, and network management systems.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work independently, or under only general direction, on requirements that are moderately complex to analyze, plan, program, and implement
