Position Summary

FPS is seeking a highly analytical and technically proficient Safety Systems Analyst to lead the development, optimization and governance of technology solutions that support Corporate Safety program.

The role collaborates with key stakeholders to deliver scalable technology solutions that support compliance, reporting, risk management, and informed decision-making while maintaining the integrity, reliability, and effectiveness of corporate safety systems.

Key Responsibilities

Systems Analysis & Solution Design

  • Analyze business requirements, processes and users need to identify opportunities for system enhancements, optimization, and automation.
  • Develop scalable solutions, automation, dashboards, and reporting tools that support business objectives.
  • Perform process analysis and solution planning to support system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and recommend solutions that enhance efficiency, data quality, and program performance.

Safety Systems Administration & Development
 

  • Design, configure and maintain safety systems supporting incident management, inspections, audits, corrective actions, permits, contractor management, safety observations, and training programs.
  • Develop scalable workflows, automations, data structures, and integrations that support business operations across regions and functions.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize system performance, reporting and integrations while partnering with IT, vendors, and stakeholders to implement enhancements.

Reporting, Analytics & Data Governance

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs and reports that support operational and executive decision-making.
  • Analyze incidents, inspection, training, and compliance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Establish and maintain data governance standards, controls, and quality assurance processes.
  • Monitor data quality, user adoption, and system effectiveness, recommending improvements where needed.
  • Ensure system data and reporting support internal, regulatory and customer requirements.

Integration & Technology Management

  • Develop and maintain integrations between safety systems and business applications using APIs, webhooks and related technologies.
  • Evaluate and enhance system architecture to improve scalability, usability, and performance.
  • Support system upgrades, testing, deployments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assess emerging technologies and future business requirements to support Corporate Safety objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement & Project Support

  • Collaborate with Corporate Safety, Human Resources, Operations, Engineering, Information Technology, and other stakeholders to support business initiatives.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, system reviews, and user feedback activities.
  • Lead/coordinate system enhancements, upgrades, and new technology implementations.
  • Provide training, technical guidance and change management support to promote effective system adoption and utilization.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement

  • Support audits, investigations and compliance reviews through reporting, data analysis, and system expertise.
  • Ensure safety systems align with company policies, governance requirements, and operational objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, reporting effectiveness and data accuracy.
  • Participate in Corporate Safety projects and support evolving business needs and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in systems analysis, business applications, reporting, process improvement, or related technical roles.
  • Experience configuring, supporting, or enhancing enterprise applications, workflow platforms, and reporting solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, business processes, workflow automation, and systems analysis.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable system solutions and process improvements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences.

Preferred

  • Experience with Coda, Power Platform, Power BI, or similar low-code platforms.
  • Experience with APIs, webhooks, SQL, JSON, JavaScript, Python, or related technologies.
  • Experience with health and safety systems, manufacturing, construction, or field operations.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 and other health and safety frameworks.
  • Experience with enterprise integrations and multi-site environments.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards and performance reports.

Measures of Success

  • Stable, usable solutions are delivered against agreed priorities and documented requirements.
  • Manual effort, duplicate entry and recurring workflow failures are reduced.
  • Integrations, automations, dashboards and reports are reliable and have documented controls and ownership.
  • Releases are supported by effective testing, communication, documentation and handover to the Coda Administrator.
  • User adoption improves and recurring technical issues decline following deployment.

Working Conditions

This role is primarily office-based, with occasional travel to company and customer sites to support implementations, training, projects, and stakeholder engagement. Flexibility to collaborate across locations and time zones is required.
