Position Scope:
We are seeking a highly motivated and technically driven Computer Engineering Co-op to join our Field Controls Team. This role will involve supporting the development, testing, and deployment of control systems used in various applications. As part of the team, you’ll work closely with engineers to assist in the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of control systems that directly impact our products in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, development, and testing of control systems for products..
- Support the Field Controls team in integrating embedded systems, sensors, and control hardware/software.
- Participate in testing and troubleshooting, diagnosing issues, and implementing fixes.
- Collaborate with software developers to optimize control system performance and efficiency.
- Write, test, and debug code for control systems (C/C++, Python, etc.).
- Assist with data analysis and system performance evaluations from field deployments.
- Work with other teams to improve the user interface and control features of products.
- Document findings, test results, and provide recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Computer Engineering or related program (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering).
- Strong knowledge of control systems, embedded systems, and hardware-software integration.
- Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or similar.
- Familiarity with sensors, actuators, and real-time control algorithms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, especially in a field testing or hands-on environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to clearly document findings and issues.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a cross-functional team.
- Passion for field applications of technology and systems engineering.
- Previous co-op, internship, or project experience in control systems is an asset.
