Position Summary
FPS Food Process Solutions Corp. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Qualified Pressure Welder (Class A) to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will perform high-quality pressure welding work related to the assembly, fabrication, installation, testing, maintenance, repair, and alteration of pressure vessels and food-grade equipment in compliance with applicable safety standards and welding codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pressure welding in accordance with the Safety Standards Act and the Power Engineers, Boiler, Pressure Vessel, and Refrigeration Safety Regulation
- Read and interpret welding procedures, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
- Execute GTAW (TIG) welding on SS304 and SS316 thin-walled piping with a high level of precision
- Perform back-purging and maintain internal root-pass cleanliness to food-grade standards
- Maintain Welding Performance Qualifications (WPQ) continuity in accordance with ASME Section IX
- Ensure all work complies with approved WPS/PQR requirements
- Maintain accurate welder logbook records and related documentation
- Conduct quality inspections and support testing procedures as required
- Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
- Provide supervision and technical guidance to Class IT welders
- Support production and project schedules as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid Class A Pressure Welder Certificate of Qualification issued by TSBC
- Minimum 5–7 years of related pressure welding experience in Canada
- Experience working within regulated pressure welding standards
- Valid and up-to-date welder’s logbook record
- Advanced GTAW (TIG) welding skills on stainless steel SS304 and SS316 thin-walled piping
- Ability to work independently and lead junior welders when required
- Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality
- Ability to perform restricted-access welds or mirror welding is considered an asset
- Experience manufacturing food-grade equipment is considered an asset
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
