You will work alongside and compliment our talented team of over 160 engineers, designers, technical sales, and fabricator/welders. You will have an opportunity to grow your knowledge of project management and machinery design and leverage that knowledge to build strength in hygienic design of food processing equipment. CMP and FPS are constantly innovating and contributing to more advanced hygienic designs to exceed client needs. We engineer food safety in everything we do.

Job Responsibilities

  • Hire, train and professionally develop project coordinators and project manager
  • Review incoming new projects and distribute to Project Managers and Project Coordinator based on workload and experience
  • Ensure the success of projects by supporting project manager with review and monitoring of critical milestones. Monitor and control project performance, identify bottlenecks and resolve issues
  • Ensure proper change management is followed throughout the project process
  • Maintain quality of internal project management system by ensuring accuracy and suggest and implement improvements
  • Establish project KPIs and provide KPI reporting to senior management
  • Represent the Project Management department in project meetings with other departments
  • Establish policies and procedures for the Project Management department, train and implement effective reporting and process check mechanisms within the team to ensure consistency of executive of internal project management methodologies
  • Manage key customer interface to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Execute bi-annual performance interviews with project managers/coordinators and create development plans to grow the PMOs capability
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Materials Engineering
  • Master's degree in engineering seen as an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably within the Industrial Equipment Manufacturing Sector and Food Processing/Beverage Sector
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with a track record of successfully leading and developing project management teams
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Proven experience in establishing and managing a PMO or similar project management functions
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate collaboration and resolve conflicts
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions, solve complex problems, identify, and mitigate project risks and issues
  • Familiarity with quality management systems, regulatory compliance, and relevant industry standards
  • PMP Project Management Institute Accreditation or in progress is preferred
  • P. Eng Accreditation or in progress is preferred
  • Occasional travel to client job sites from time to time
